They are never happier than when they are doing crafts, so for Star Wars Week, I challenged them to make some spacecraft.

Resources

  • Kitchen roll
  • Toilet rolls
  • Egg box
  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Coloured paper
  • Sticky tape

Method

Ioan used an egg box and some black paper to make a tie fighter.

Then he moved on to a speeder bike.

Every time Ioan thought his spacecraft were all made, he got a new idea.

After spacecraft, they moved on to making a ‘Dewback’ and an ‘AT-AT Walker’.

Finn wrapped his box in paper, while Ioan wrapped his tube.

That tongue poking out, means Finn is concentrating hard!

Finn got the giggles when he drew a face on the Dewback he’d named ‘Dino Dude’.

ELG 17 – Being imaginative:

Children use what they have learnt about media and materials in original ways, thinking about uses and purposes. They represent their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through design and technology, art, music, dance, role-play and stories.
