After a busy morning, running around in the sunshine on the Easter Hunt at Tegg’s Nose, they needed some quiet time in the shade.

Resources

  • Slates
  • Grapat loose parts
  • Wooden rings
  • Wooden spools
  • Pine cones
  • Shells
  • Log slices

Method

They were completely focussed on their task, and Cian enjoyed some quiet time playing on his blanket.

Ioan made an elf holding a present.

Finn made a rainbow, then added a sun and some rain clouds to accompany it as, “You can’t have a rainbow without the sun and the rain can you? It would just be the sky!”

Cian loves being outside and enjoyed feeling the grass (and the fence) between his toes.

Ioan then made some bees, coming out of their hive to collect nectar from the trees. He asked to take a photo of it himself so he could get the right perspective.

DfES Early Learning Goals (2017)

Expressive arts and design

ELG 17 – Being imaginative:

Children use what they have learnt about media and materials in original ways, thinking about uses and purposes. They represent their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through design and technology, art, music, dance, role-play and stories.

ELG 15 – Technology:

Children recognise that a range of technology is used in places such as homes and schools. They select and use technology for particular purposes.
