Another child led activity. Cian was very excited to discover some of Finny’s old alphablocks drawings, so decided to make a set of his own. He then collected a bowl of alphablocks and wooden letters to create his own alphabet game.
Letters A – L
We stopped filming because the washing machine was beeping. While I went to empty it, this cheeky monkey stole my slippers.
Letters M – Z
Cian completed the rest of the alphabet, humming some ‘Imagine Dragons’ songs along the way.
Cici then decided to line his letters up in a straight line.
Working out half of 26
Cics wasn’t happy with the alphablocks set out as above, because there were more on the top than the bottom. He wanted to know how to make them even. I suggested he get the Numicon out to help him solve his problem.
Letter names and sounds
Cici then finished off by explaining the difference between the letter names and sounds.
