Ioan decided to make some ‘Oi Frog!’ stick puppets for a puppet show. He went off and found the resources he needed.

Resources

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Coloured pencils
  • Scissors
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Felt tipped pens
  • Sticky tape

Method

First, Ioan drew and cut out the characters from the ‘Oi Frog!’ stories by Kes Gray and Jim Field, and felt tipped in the lollipop sticks.

He set himself up in the teepee in the garden, taking the ‘Oi Frog!’ eggs, that he decorated this morning, with him. He stuck his green lollipop stick on the back of his frog picture to make his first stick puppet.

He than completed the remaining puppets, picking the colour of lollipop stick that he thought best suited each character.

Once the puppets were finished, we were treated to a sneak preview of the book he’s writing called, “Oi Easter Animals”. He used the puppets to act out the story.
