Our baby boy is now 2 years 10 months and is starting preschool next month, so I’m moving him out of the Toddler category and in to the Early Years section.

Cian absolutely loves playing with the Numberblocks that Ioan made. He got them out of the cupboard, spread them on the floor and called out, “Come and see Mummy, I show you!”

Method

Cian started by finding Numberblocks one and two, then clicking the number digits, or ‘Numberlings’, on top.

He then found the rest of the numbers up to 10, lining them up as he went along.

Next, Cici decided to count to 10 on his fingers.

Finally, Cian asked if I wanted to see some numbers bigger than 10. I know he can count up to 20, but wanted to see if he understood what the numbers were made up of, rather than just having learnt the number names. This was the first time I’d seen him break the numbers up as ’10 and 2 make 12′, so was surprised to see him go all the way up to ‘twenteen’.
