As part of our Star Wars Week, I challenged Finn to use magnatiles to make as many different spacecraft as possible.

Method

Finn thought carefully about which spacecraft he knew from the films and how to create them in 3-D form. Then after building them, he looked them up in the reference book, to see where to change or add any details.

These were Finn’s creations. He checked his t-shirt to make sure he’d made all of them.

Ioan saw what Finn was up to and asked to add two spacecraft of his own.

ELG12 – Shape, space and measures:

Children use everyday language to talk about size and position to compare quantities and objects and to solve problems. They recognise, create and describe patterns. They explore characteristics of everyday objects and shapes and use mathematical language to describe them.
