Cian is becoming interested in the days of the week. He really enjoys putting the dates on the calendar to track the development of our caterpillars into chrysalides and then emerging as butterflies.
Ordering days of the week
First of all he sang the ‘days of the week’ song. Cici knows the names of all of the days, but often gets confused about the order when he got to Sunday.
Next, we used our calendar, to see if Cian could recognise the written words. Cian is right at the start of his reading journey, but is very keen to try.
Finny pulled the pants out and found the day of the week on them, Cici named the day, then showed Yoshi where he wanted the pants to go. We encouraged Cian to sound out the days he didn’t recognise.
Once he’d finished, Cics asked to do this again… and again.
Next Cici got his baby Thomas. He put the pants on him, with lots of giggles.
He snuggled up with Thomas on the chair, giving Thomas lots of kisses and tickles.
Then went back to putting the pants on him in order.
