We collect bottle tops for all sorts of activities from crafts, to loose parts play. The ones with the holes in are useful for threading.
SAFETY: Bottle tops are a choking hazard. Always supervise children with bottle lids and discourage them from putting them in their mouth.

Method
After making pipe cleaner Christmas decorations last year, the boys were keen to make some more this year. Instead of using beads, we decided to recycle some of our bottle top collection.
As usual, Ioan went for traditional colours. Finn chose orange and purple for Numberblocks Number 20. Under supervision, Cian (14 months) happily emptied the lids out of the containers and re-filled them again.
They experimented with different numbers and patterns of bottle tops. Ioan even twisted a few filled pipe cleaners together to make some larger decorations.
This was the finished product. Quick and easy to makbut they looked quite effective.
