We took this week’s sink play outside to enjoy the weather.

Resources

  • Paddling pool
  • Blindfold
  • Numicon
  • Bath numbers

Method

Finn put the blindfold on and Ioan handed him a number to try and recognise.

Even with the blindfold on, Finn was quick to recognise the numbers, so I asked him to explain how he knew what number it was.

Next, I asked if he could tell if it was ‘odd’ or ‘even’ by touch.

When Finn told me it was 7, I asked, “Why seven?” to see what he would say. He told me it was odd, rainbow coloured (in Numberblocks) and smaller than 8.
