A pig, cow, tiger and Lorax. The boys spend hours of free time drawing, cutting, sticking and creating. Art resources will be scattered all over the floor, but walking in and finding them working alongside each other like this, it’s worth it.

Resources

  • Card
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes
  • Buttons
  • Pipe cleaners

Method

Ioan had already made his cow by the time I spotted them working, but I watched him make his pig. He cut a strip of pink card and then glued on a button for it’s nose and some googly eyes. He cut out some ears to finish it off.

Finn followed Ioan’s lead, cutting up card and pipe cleaners, then adding the features to make his Lorax and tiger. You can see how proud he was to complete it independently.

They then played with these in a puppet show.
